The Eliminator® Torsion Trailer Axle features removable, greaseable spindles which attach with a castle nut and cotter pin into the hot dip galvanized torsion arm. The arm is positioned at a 45 degree angle from the top of the mounting flange in its unloaded state to allow the maximum amount of suspension travel of the torsion arm and spindle. The torsion arm is inserted into the torsion axle tubing which also houses the four rubber torsion axle cords which handle the shock absorption and allow for the suspension travel of the torsion arm and spindle.
The torsion axle itself is made from hot dip galvanized box tube and is bolted directly to the trailer frame and acts as an additional cross member that stiffens the frame, reducing flex of the trailer frame and adding structural support.
Eliminator® Torsion Axles provide independent suspension where each wheel acts independently for a smoother ride. The rubber torsion cord design provides a progressive rate of shock absorption. Small bumps require less torsion resistance as compared to larger bumps which require a stiffer rate of shock absorption. Eliminator® Torsion axles allow independent movement of each wheel, reducing shock transfer and dangerous trailer sway.
The Eliminator® Torsion replacement spindle also has the Spindle-lube® feature with a grease fitting in the tip of the spindle and reverse lubrication (greasing from back of hub to front) for easy hub and bearing maintenance. The boat trailer axle comes with two special dust caps and rubber plugs which allow access to the grease fitting without removal of the dust cap.
